2007 Fantasy Hockey
Draft Report

| Anze Kopitar
- Kings - 20 goals and 61 points with a lack luster
Los Angelos team last year. The Kings have Frolov and
Cammalleri to help with offensive of duties and from a
fantasy point of view Kopitar has every opportunity to
produce this year. |
8.1 |

| Nate Horton
- Panthers - This kid has been in the league only
three years and has improved his yearly point total by
20 each year. The +/- keeps going up with the points as
well. Florida has talent and Horton is a big, but quite
part of it. |
8.0 |
64 |
| Zach Parise
- Devils - The second year center racked up 30
more points in his sophomore year with New Jersey. Jersey
is always in the hunt and seems to find players to put
up numbers for them year after year. Gomez is gone, but
3rd year Parise will be there again. |

Kozlov - Thrashers - Not sure if ending up with
80 points last year qualifies him as a true breakout for
this year, however it was a very quiet 80 points. If you
saw him play last year he looked ustoppable at times.
Atlanta doesn't get the exposure other teams do, but they're
loaded with goal scorers. |
8.4 |
49 |
| Steve Sullivan
- Predators - He tallied 60 points and earned
a plus/minus rating of +16 while ony playing in 57 games.
His career best is only 68, but Nashville is now a proven
winner with a talented team. His points total could jump
if his back allows him to participate a full season. |

| Wojtek
Wolski - Avalanche - As far as rookies go, Wolski
was 5th in goals and assists and ended up 4th in scoring
among first year players. Sakic, Hlinka, and Stastny are
all on this Colorodo team which should make some noise
this year. Keep and eye on Wolski this year and maybe
grab him in a deeper league. |

Gaborik - Wild - Everyone around the NHL is expecting
very big numbers from Gaborik. Last year he managed 57
points in 48 games with 30 of his points coming from goals.
Healthy Gaborik equals very healthy point total. |

Penner - Oilers - He may have been the product
of being on a great team for his rookie year or a true
talent who is ready to breakout. I wouldn't draft him,
but keep close watch to see how he is producing. He did
lead all rookies in playoff scoring and was tied for 2nd
in the season for rookie goals with 29. |
6.9 |
101 |
| Colby Armstrong
- Penguisns - In '05 - '06 he scored 40 points
in 47 games as a rookie. Last year the Penguins expected
more and didn't get it from Armstrong. They still signed
him to an extension and have consider his 80 game 34 point
season as a sophomore slump. Expect Colby to put up better
numbers as the Penguin team grows with more experience.

- Blues - The former Minnesota standout is now
NHL ready. He has the size of a big time defense and the
hockey sense to provide points for a fantasy owner. The
blues are looking to turn things around with a mix of
young and old which include veterans such as Tkachuk,
Doug Weight, Paul Kayria. |
6.9 |
? |
| Luc Bourdon
- Canucks - Both the Kings and the Caps have some
fantasy breakout potential skating with their teams this
year. However, Luc Bourdon has played in the NHL, 9 games,
and will be playing on a talented team. Ryan Whitney's
second year last year with the Penguins proved to be productful
and skating with talent all around you makes things that
much easier. |
6.6 |

| Marc Staal
- Rangers - These are sleepers... I thought Pittsburgh
was putting brother Jordan in the line up a bit prematurely,
but that proved to be terribly wrong. So, now we have
the third Staal brother to keep close watch on. Again,
he'll be playing with a collective group of guys who already
have their names on Lord Stanley's cup and all the experienced
he can handle to draw from. |
